    EATING CROW

Never actually roasted one....but it got me thinking. (Everybody duck!) Granddad told me a story a while back of a crow he and my great uncle soandso once shot. He said they killed it to eat out of necessity, read hunger. He also said he'd starve to death before eating another....
Well, truth be told most of us eat crow every so often...at least those of us with a set swinging.
Take the Slayer for example, I know he eats crow(and God only knows what else). Just the other day he had quite the serving for posting a pic of dead cat.

And in a roundabout way, that's what prompted this thread...I seriously wonder how feral cat taste. I am pretty sure that they taste better than the neighbors Tabby (have you ever smelled catfood?) At least the Feral cats eat quail, turkey, ducklings, and all sorts of wild birds and such, let's try not to think about rats and mice.. Certainly a cat that was sustaining on birds we eat would taste better than the domestic type that the local jing jangs calls chicken chow mein(which is pretty damn tasty).

Which brings up another thought, what about Starlings
How hungry are you? They are open friggin season pretty much. Pidgeon?

Which would you prefer if Toadfish becomes illegal to keep and we have to find something else to roast on the Barbie?
    FERAL CAT, PIDGEON, STARLING, CROW
OH, and how the hell are we gonna catch em when guns become illegal? Have you been practicing with your slingshot?
Any thoughts....try to be open minded.........

Sounds to me like you have to much time on your hands...... I guess I can not be talking as I am reading your thread and getting a laugh out of it. I can not shoot a sling shot for the life of me so I am going to take another approach to the issue....

Now i have the logistics of obtaining the feral cats down....my question is preparation. Im leaning towards preparing them like crabs.....with a big enough pot i could just drop the whole cage into the boil...a lil old bay and some beer and were eating

Try to keep this on topic fellas..... Let's keep the seasoning and other culinary details for the grillin and chillin forum.
As for catching them....I have a pile of sunflower seeds in the backyard. My efforts to catch Starling in the back yard have caused me to stumble onto another great idea.
While waiting for the starlings, I noticed a Cardinal, Bluejay, two mockingbirds, and a bunch of big fat domesticated Dove.
And low and behold, the Tabby next door is creeping down the fenceline...I was gonna let the little gudgeon smuggler live....but if she interrupts my plans for songbird stew she's getting spit skewered over a pine straw fire.

What CAD/CAT system are you using?
I think fisher price makes one similar.
    The concept is flawless.

    CHEESE AND RICE!
8 geese just walked up into the front yard.

I'm covered up....got Songbirds everywhere outback, Starlings are starting to circle, they look a little weary though....like maybe they've been shot at lately.

I need to focus. If I could just get the geese to step past the gate then the Songbird Stew might have to wait.

On second thought, a tufted Titmouse just joined the fray....I'll just wait it out. If a finch lands close enough I'm going for the songbird stew.
If the cat spooks everything, well, let's just hope for a finch or two.
    Wait for it.....
