East side kings and big amberjack pics added

Due to a tip by a friend, I headed to the east side today on a guide trip with friend Bobby Klutz on his 28 Mako. The bite was good, but due to a large amberjack, we didn't get to kingfish long. The first two fish in the box were 22-28 lb kings, and then we had doubled up. One 33 lb. king, and 2+ hours later, we had a 60 lb 4 oz amberjack in the box. We chased the jack almost 2 miles, and then fought him up and down just out of gaff range for a while on 15 lb line and a king mackerel rod. What a fight! I'll have pics in a couple of days when Bobby e-mails them to me. I'll be back on the water tommorow, so stay tuned.

What an experience. I bet that was a trip for the angler batttling that jack on a king rod. Sounds like a good day on the water. Nice ride you guys were fishing

We fished on the east side Sunday as well, ended up with 1 Gag(35"), 3 RG's, 5 Scamps, 2 ARS's, and a bunch of pinkies and grunts. We must have caught at least 12 short Scamps and a handfull of short ARS's and Gags.

Fun day, would have liked to see a few more in the box though...
