Subject: Action Required -- Credit/Debit Card Payment Declined

    Dear Member,
We are writing to alert you that your balance is not paid, because your
credit/dibit card company declined eBay's attempt to charge your monthly
invoice amount to your credit/debit card.

Your payment is due by your next invoice date.

To speed up this process, you are required to place other credir/debit
against the account registration data we have on file.

Place or update credit/debit card on file.

As a courtesy, eBay will automatically make a second attempt to charge
your card. This attempt will take place in about 1 to 3 business days.

As a reminder, past due accounts may be restricted from buying or
    selling until payment is received.

    Regards,
    eBay Billing Department

I get fraudulant emails for both Paypal and Ebay twice a week. They're very good. One telltale way to check is to put your cursor over the link they tell you to click. It's always something you quickly discover to be a sham site.

Ditto ... A couple surefire ways to tell: check the link .... if it doesnt start with the addrsss of the site they say they are from ditch it. Another way is simple ... look for typos or basic gramatical errors. A lot of this stuff comes from all parts of the world and it shows in their attempts to type the english language.

About a year ago I was scanning ebay looking at boat electronics and noticed sellers putting expensibe items up for a rediculous price. If you read down in the text they wanted you to call them first and then pay by Wester Union which is a real no no. I then clicked on the link to see what else the seller had and there were about 30 items listed the same way. I called Ebay and reported them. The sellers items were immediately removed but popped up again under a different sellers ID. After doing this about 10 time over a couple of days I gave up. Some how they are stealing ligit sellers ID's and PW's. It happens every day on ebay so be careful of how you do transactions. I've done over 300 hundred transactions and only lost about $8 which I got back from my credit car company as I only pay with the Card.

One other subtle way is to look closely at the spelling and grammar in the e-mail....for example here...."dibit" and "creditir" are dead give aways.

Never open an E-mail from E-bay or Paypal. Close your E-mail and open E-bay, if they have a message for you it will be on my E-bay.
