Very nice Tuna Taxi! I heard HQ announce your hook up and could hear them calling you while you were fighting the fish. I figured you had a nice one on...and you did! Pretty work to you and your crew.

Would have paid money to watch Glenn wiring a 400 pounder.
You would have loved it. He had his thighs tucked up under the covering boards and gave her all the skinny redneck she could handle. She was going to have to tear him through the side of the boat to get away. He made short work of getting her under control alongside the boat. Mike and Bryan were equally impressive swimming her afterward. 3 great guys in the pit.

do i want to wire or not

Glenn said he had never wired a big fish like that so I said go for it. After seeing how big she was I got a little worried about chosing the gaff. I love to gaff so it was easy for me to chose the fly gaff. You can only imagine the panic I felt when the line broke on the flyer before I could sink it. someone was looking after her though because the second gaff went in the lower jaw and will give her a fat lip for a couple of days. After telling Brian on the first day about how they change color it was real big relief to see her colors change back. It took 20 min or so before she gave the let me go head shake. It was a big relief to see her swim off. Brain, Glenn, and Bill enjoyed every minute of it and man the big blue suits like that Post. Let me see....where was the wahoo bite at during the tourney????

Wow, you guys were almost there. Great save of the fish. I remember watching Bill Pino fight a blue suit for 3 hours sitting in a chair using coolers as footrests at the PC tourney last year only to have the fish show up 3 inches short of $300k... long ride back for us that day.

Again, great report, sounded like a fun crew!

im getting this mental image of Glenn locked in the corner with a few wraps of 400 in his right paw, a cold, sweaty corona in the left, and a menthol cigarette with a long ash hanging on the end in the corner of his mouth.......and loving every gd minute of it.

My time on the water has paid off the last 17 years.

Been doing the offshore thing since I was 15. Have only been able to go about 20 times a year if that. In less than a month I have been blessed to release a sail, almost release a white and release a blue one back with healthy colors. My time on the water finally caught up with me with the bills.

Bill, Glenn, Patrick and Mike, thank you for the invite to fish with you this past weekend. I enjoyed it more than you know. Mike it was nice to meet and fish with you. Thanks for the tips you shared.

I am sorry that the white one did not get released. I let her eat for a LONG TIME, it did not even come out of the clip until a solid 30 seconds passed. She even ran out 1/4 of the spool before I cranked on her while ya'll were clearing the lines. I guess that is what the white boy does though.

We almost had it this weekend! But it was not meant to be.

Again thank you for the invite to fish.
