and shared on this forum. I won't be able to attend. The story of the bluefin is one of the great mysteries of the ocean. Why are they here, where do they go? Are they in decline?? Catching a giant bluefin is an awesome angling experience that I have enjoyed in the past. There were only a handful taken off Hatteras this year. Ten years ago they were in giant schools and hundreds were hooked and released each day and the season went from December to March. I guess like other fish they are in a cycle of decline and abundance.

Each of us needs to protect our resources. Only take what you need and can consume. We as fishermen are the trustees of the resource. Care for it.

What's a hack scientist?---- Shit, I have piggy backed on other people's theories and work my entire professional carreer--- and feel I have made a contribution to my field by piggy backing and offering a tweak every now and then.

I have read that this Doc is tagging big blue fin. Tracking their migration and trying to locate their breeding areas. The Gulf of Mexico and Mediterranean Sea are two places she has monitored. The tags are expensive and funding is needed. Also good fishermen Only one has been caught this season on their boat She should hire Second to None Maybe some off the wall organizations have donated funds and research has been combined. Still I think this is good info for all. Washashore, what do you know that led you to this negative light on this Doc?
