Anyone checked to see what drag pressure you can achieve off a downrigger? My Sr adapter won't fit in the rod holders in the garage or I'd go check it. You could acutally probably grind down the nylon washers and add HT-100 to each side (the HT-100 is not nearly as thick as the nylon washers are) and have a good drag system. They catch pretty good size fish on downriggers, but never heard of anything like a BFT on one. You may be a first there. Am guessing if you catch a BFT on one, you're gonna void your warranty though!!!

FYI, I think some states have laws agaisnt fishing with downriggers directly. It's no longer rod and reel fishing. I believe there was something about that on the federal permit you have to fill out.

Yea, A bft would be just as good as dynamite for that poor old downrigger. I was just thinking of of using it meat fishing for wahoo like we do for the small winter kings.
