I THINK ABOUT WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN....WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN.....DANG WHY DID I BLOW AN OPPORTUNITY OF 3 CRASHING WHITES ,SO ON & SO ON......MY HEART RATE IS UPWARD RIGHT NOW JUST KEYING THIS.

IF YOU WANT TO SPEND MORE TIME CONNECTING RAGS TO YOUR OUTRIGGERS....MULTIPLE RAGS.......I ASK: "HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU COME THROUGH YOUR INLET , YOU'VE BEEN BILLFISHING ALL DAY, AND THERE IS THE SAME OL BOATS FLYING THE SAME OL WAD OF RAGS....??? A BUNCH I'D GUESS.....

AND WHEN IT'S ALLOWED....WHILE FIGHTING A WHITEBOY......TRY CASTING A SPINNING ROD LOADED WITH A NAKED HOO OFF IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THE JUMPING BILLFISH AND LET IT SINK!....RETRIEVE IN AS NECESSARY! YOU JUST NEVER KNOW!

LOL great post...i was up till three last night couldnt sleep and I cant even tell you how many naked rigs i did bc i couldnt keep my eyes shut..headed out tomorrow in search of....def wont be able to sleep tonight! Just got back from getting 4 fresh macks from fresh fields for the double hook mak rigs
Im praying all night for neptune to send up some of his biggest beast!!

Great tips Marty, but I can't help but tell a short "Box" story here.
We hooked up to a Small Blue on a Dink rod and the spool was getting skinny real quick. Anglers (except 1) and crew were clearing dredges, teasers, lines, and the first puff of black smoke roiled out the stern. Ever so calmly, the Box asked the mezzmerized angler watching the Blue grayhound in the distance---
"are you going to bring your mess in or are you just trying to see how deep it is?"

My passengers often look at me cross eyed. What they think is being non chalant when I pass off a hooked fish then look away is actually me looking to see where the next is comming from.
Fishing the Reel Delight , the albie I use some times in OC, when we raise one and my mate is heading toward rod "A" I'm already off the helm and heading for rod "B" as I know there WILL be another fish gonna raise. Very rarely do we raise just one on that boat...
Even as lines are getting cleared, I keep a sharp look out for yet another. You can take it a step farther by having a pitch spin redy to go as you are working the fish that hooked up. Agreed, Box, keep working it cause more will most likely come...
