This Doesn't "Just" Happen,

I spend as much time turning a wrench and taking a soapy brush for a walk around the boat as we do fishing on it.....fact is I enjoy being part of the team.....this past weekend for example....I went down on friday morning and caught bait to fill the bait pen, saturday morning I did the same thing, saturday afternoon we put the enclosure on the old girl and took some of that bait for a boat ride....and we caught fish....it takes teamwork to get things done and keep things the way they need to be.....if you dont want to be part of the team odds are you wont be invited back.

you hit the nail on the head with that comment, "teamwork". That's why I enjoy the "regular's" that go with me. Yes, we have the normal friend or to that come's with them and out of that we gain more "regular's". I am alway's looking for quality folk's that "enjoy" to fish. Seem's that I am the one that at the end of the day that "wishes" we had caught more, bigger, etc.... I guess that's the old commercial fisherman coming out. It actually has taken quite some time for me to just enjoy the day. I used to get paid by the pound, if I didn't have alot of pound's I wasn't thrilled. It's getting better though, I'm chillin' out more all the time. I just want to catch my share, on any given day.
I guess one of the best lesson's was showed to me earlier this year. I've got a customer that has a decent 37 Bertram, that doesn't know his head from a hole in the ground about catching fish. He hired me for 3 day's to take him and some family out. Long story short, we had some pretty rough weather day's, so it wasn't as pleasant to those getting seasick. We caught some "run of the mill" wahoo, had a blue hit twice but didn't get the hook, had another billfish come in on the corner. They caught some albacore and dolphin. Not what "I" would call a jam up trip by any means. I ended up taking their picture across the back of the boat with the wahoo and albacore held up proud. That picture ended up in a frame and is sitting on the owner's desk as we speak. He was tickled to death. Just goes to show we don't all see thing's through the same eye's.
Yep I've got a pretty good bunch and am glad to keep going, just as we have been. But they make it a pleasure! Frank

I need to find a crew like you guys! I have maybe one (and sometines 2) regulars, but have missed too many days because of lack of a crew.

One of my buddies gives me crap all the time. I never ask for money. If someone offers, I may or may not take it. I am fortunate enough to not worry about it all the time. As I told my friend, I just want to fish. Let's not worry about the money.

So, once my new boat arrives, I will be needing some folks to come along. Any takers?
