DO WE NEED TO BRING ON STUFF A CAMPER #2 AND REPEAT THE HELP/DONATIONS/ASSISTANCE THAT SFC SENT TO VENICE , LA A FEW YEARS AGO?
TV REPORTS LOOK PRETTY BAD ....ANYONE ON SFC AFFECTED?
They got hit pretty hard thats for sure. Still lots of people without power. You can't find a pump anywhere around. The rivers seemed to have crested yesterday and are starting to receed in most places.
I was down at the marina last night and boy is it a mess. A bunch of boats floated off of their blocks and the fixed dock looks like a rollercoaster. There was a boat floating in the bay still on it's trailer. My buddy who owns a marina had 2'-0" of water in his ships store. He had a few boats float off of their blocking as well.
I am very thankfull that Ruthless is on high ground.
If any help is needed please ask, I will do what I can to help out.
Central Jersey here. Lost power Saturday about 2:30pm it was restored Tuesday morning. 6 inches of water in the basement 30+ feet of fencing blown down 2 Maple trees gone and all the food in the the frig and freezer. On the brighter side my new roof that was installed last year held up just fine.
Come on summer !!!
I was in AC for a bachelor party over the weekend and Saturday was pretty bad... Power went out for most of Saturday and we had to watch strippers by candle light... THE HORROR!!!
My parents house in CT has been without power since Saturday. It is still down. Luckily they were able to escape and run up to my sisters house in MA to wait it out.
My town, flood wise, was hit the worst up and down the NE. Little Falls NJ. Parents house is ok and my complex is ok, but my the town in general...not so much.
We had the fire department by the house the other day. We were helping them outfit a few more of their trucks with hitches to pull the boats around. There's utility and tree removal crews from all over the nation here now.
I would say this is worse than Floyd.
LOL it's bad though man. Parents had a 3' wide at the base oak fall in the yard. My neighbor and I with two 18" saws had her cut up by about 2:30. Then I tended to the power line running from the street to the house, which had a limb leaning on it, and got that cleared. PSEG estimated the response time for that to be 2 weeks.
People have way worse problems. This weekend I am probably going to get out with the local volunteer FD and see if I can't lend a hand.
