    OR

    Slim jims and small hook.

I've broken off more carp than I've landed w/ my 4wt fly rod. Use a good leader, they like to try and throw the hook in the vegetation and mud/rocks.

Any large nymph pattern. Otherwise the doughball/jelly combo, but rasberry beats strawberry every day.

But best of all is fishing for them under a mullberry tree in june usng fresh mullberrys as bait.

Damn I forgot about that Bert. As soon as My brother got his license we use to got flectcher's, and Senenca Park as well as Columbia Island Marina right by National airport. We would sit under the Mulberry tree and gather up mulberrys and catch carp all day. Other higher end dirt eating mudsucking species like Catfish would love the mulberries as well.

Columbia Island marina was a fishing mecca for us. We would use a big rockfish net and catch loads of herring in the early spring. Great eel bait. I also caught my first bass ever on the rocks just by the entrance to the marina. My dad told me if we ate it we would glow in the dark.
