We tie biminis on the dock, or atleast before we get on the water, if for some reason we do need to retie out on the water i like the simplicity of the spider. Here is my question how long is your double line?

As someone else has mentioned here the Australian Plait or braid is fairly easy to tie on land but requires some practice. I would only recommend using it on line less than 50# as is can have a tendency to catch on the first guide under pressure with the tip bent slightly. Other than that works great as a line doubler and shock absorber. I still use the bimini though when needed.
