Looks like we have a parade of storms heading our way.
So what's your plan?
I really hope no one needs to use their plan, but in the case of a Cat 5 forcast to be a direct hit to the area where your baby lives. I would like to know what you would do.
I keep my boat in a very protected creek, the problem that I have is that the pilings for the floating docks aren't tall enough. If we get a good North East blow I am pushing my luck as it is. I keep a fender board on the dock so my hull won't hit when the piling goes below the rubrail.
If the docks float off the pilings I'm screwed.
I can have the marina pull the boat and block it up, but I don't really feel it would be much better as all the marinas around me are prone to flooding themselves and what's to stop the boat from floating off the blocks. (I guess I could pull the plug and hope for the best)
I was thinking a couple of other things, please let me know what you think.
Option #1
Run the boat up the creek a mile or so where there are not any other boats or marinas around and set out a couple of storm anchors with lots of chain and hope for the best.
Option #2
Run the boat up the Hudson river 50 miles or so and ride it out up there.
Again this is completely hypothetical and I wish this on no one.
