We were out oo the CarlyII for the 1st time this year and came back with a decent haul. Man, I was shot. I forgot how much it takes out of ya. I don't know how you gentlemen do it every day.
We were fishing a warm (72 deg) finger of water and had around 70 knockdowns towing ballys and bars. Most were sublegal yf and skippys but we 12 made the grade for da box with 3 or 4 better in the 40-50# range. We used 3 dozen hoos and then went to plastics and still did ok on green jets and green machines.
It was great to be back out with the crew and Capt. Jay!

Carly II is out of New London - Crockers BW.

And no Mako Mike sightings, but have seen Mako Wish on occassion.

...we tried for a shark overnight but only a couple blue sharks and that nice mahi 5 minutes in. There were a decent amount of boats out there throwing meat, but it was quiet.

and we were pretty much on the edge not too far up on the flats.
