Digital video camera

Ok, this one is tops on my xmas list this year. . .looking for the best type for the money.

I know walmart has the sony dvm(i think?) for $299ish.

any other good ideas for a camera in the $300 range?? also, what can i expect warranty wise from these cams. . . anyway they can cover water damage

GO cheap like the sony at walmart. they are easily replacable and the quaility of vid is good.

Jp I almost went with the sony but the were out of stock & I hate to wait for anything so I went with the Cannon & It has been awesome....Just need to get the extended life batterie....

Those Digital 8 cameras work well. If your not wanting to do reproductions. Even then the will give moderate quality. In the Game of digital video $$ = Quality. It depends how much you want and how much you will pay for it.
Anything that is a full digital will be better than digital over 8mm. and then the 3 ccd cameras will be better than those that have 1 ccd. The simply read the color 3 times as much.

Good info been looking for one as well. I dont want to hijack JP's post but anyone had issues with sounds especially if taping while hunting with shotguns. Just wondering would like to tape some duck hunting.
