Any idea what 130lb braid per 100 yards out in the ocean creates in actual drag ?Turning the boat into the run prow towards fish direction must increase this drag perhaps running 30 degrees off the fish direction would increase this drag, but not at the reel.
IS there anyway to get planners to trip with the speed of the boat increasing? This would help with recovery?
So 20 seconds pass from strike to Total "Reaction Time" The line has screamed off the reel, But what is the drag of the line alone never mind the reel drag in a great arc on the fish when you are running 30 Degrees off his heading and he has claimed 500 yards off the reel in that 20 seconds.

Has anybody noticed the amount of pulled hooks this year vs years past. What the deal with so many more pulled hooks???

If you drop off the drag when he is running he will stop in 75 to 100 yds. For those of you who have never BFT fished in MHC don't doubt what you have been told till you have been there and done it. EXP fishermen have been dumped here by a BFT before they could get on them.

Bisquit, good question. I've never had to worry about a yellow fin spooling me so I haven't tried it.
