    deer hunter?

These pics were taken yesterday from 400 yds, of a rare white deer, biologists say 1-100,000.

I have killed a few of them that were almost all white but they always had deformities. One had its lower jaw 2 inches shorter than the top jaw. One had really short legs and the front legs were a couple of inches longer in size from one another. It is hard to tell if this one has any of those types of problems. We have a white canada goose this year that rare.

Looks as though it has some brown spots and not completely an albino. Guess it would be considered a piebald..While living over in the mountains fifteen years a go I used to see a 9 point deer very similar in color on a regular basis feeding in a field after the season had closed. Several saw it but to my knowledge no one ever killed it

These mutations are becoming more and more prevalent as deer populations rise. The whitetail deer thrives in the suburban areas that are popping up and developing up and down the east coast. MD has had it's share of "white" deer in the last few years. I shot a pieballed button buck last year and will have a full body mount of him by the end of the summer. There are all white "albino" deer too but they generally don't make it very long. Due to their lack of pigment they are nearly blind.

The pieballed I shot wasn't the smartest thing in the world, but what button bucks are?

On the property where I took mine, there have been pieballeds taken for a few seasons. Always bucks.

I'll post some pics when I get my mount back.
