Bite me
Hi,
That is a very impressive looking "Planer"
That Planer looks very similar to a
"Delta Diver". Which has a plastic blade and is made up to a 6oz. They hold a Patent
on the way there weight and wire bends back into
the plate pretty much exactly the way you are showing yours.
They are a silent manufacturer for All Sports in Oregon, which is part of the Big Rock Group of distributors.
Just a heads up.
Very impressive looking planer though.

The Old Salty Planer is designed to trip on the strike,
to permit FREE play of fish without drag.
Also you can reset an Old Salty underwater
Can you reset yours??
I'm very curious?
We have made several prototypes throughout our Planer building years including the triangular bottom. We didnt have much success in resetting the planer.
Just my two-cents.
Good Fishin'

Patten Pending Carter Machine
I love it when people say this and have no clue what is even involved in a patent, first learn how to spell it !!!!
if they had done a patent search they may have not bothered wasting there time.
great idea none the less and good luck with your new / old idea.

Sit down Shut up And fish
If it cant be tripped why not just use a z-wing off the down rigger?
Also, 2 mins to bring in? I will lose all my line on 2 mins on a big fish...
Decent idea, but not unless it trips

Women love me... fish fear me
actually its quite easy to get a provisional patent...it allows you time to develop and fine tune what ever your trying to patent....i have a provisional patent for a process to adhere plastic caps on the end of rebar support chairs.....which is just about complete.....no other manufactuer in the concrete support business manufactures their product like we do....it was designed, built and manufactured by me....i will get a plaque and my name will go on the register in Virginia i believe.....but the company i work for will own the patent...i get credit for the creation.
