FIRST PICTURE...A BRAND NEW OUT OF THE TUBE JOE SHUTE LURE PULLED ONLY ONE TIME FOR 9 MINUTES AND DIED IN THE CRUSHER BONES OF A 92" 321LB CORE......THERE WAS NOT A SCRATCH ON THE RED HEAD WHEN IT ENTERED THE WATER......THIS IS WHY ONE MUST CONSTANTLY CHECK THE LEADER ESPECIALLY NEAR THE LURE ......AND THROUGHOUT THE DAY!!!

Well the lure paid for its self. One thing is a fact, when one goes after big game, your tackle and you are going to take a beating...you have to keep an "A" game going on all the time...

your milage may vary. I noticed in the last video the dart did not release from the harpoon shaft.

I've learned from an ex-harpoon driver that your tape is 1 1/4 of the circumference of the shaft; no more; he taught me that when you do a full double wrap that's when it doesn't release cleanly.

The chafe gear on the line is a nice touch.

Is the head of the lure mangled up like that from the extreme amount of pressure you need to put on these fish to land them?...and was it hooked deep with the lure in its mouth and preventing it from riding up the leader?...one thing is for sure that bad boy took a whoopin.

I'll say that head was damaged from bouncing off of rocks and such on the bottom. VERY lucky the line did not get chafed bad enough to break. GREAT THREAD!
