    DAILY CARRY BLADE

i thought i had seen a post like this here. but i did a few searches and couldn't find it.

So let's see what you carry daily to handle your cutting needs.

Here is mine. It is a Kershaw, Ken Onion model. It has power assist opening.

I modified it to be easier to open by pressing a larger thumb stud on the existing one. It is a thumb screw off of a roofing hammer. the handle had to be modified some to let it open and close completly. but that hasn't affected its performance at all. The larger thumb stud makes it very fast.

you may notice a couple of other things. there is a notch neare the tip of the blade. i had put a new piece of sandpaper on the sanding wheel. it was just barely off center. so i turned it on and was going to just trim it off.......now i have a notch in the blade of my knife. it is not all bad. the notch makes quick work of opening those gosh awful hard plastic packaging that everything comes in now.

Also keep battery acid away from your black knife blades. it takes it off in about two seconds flat.

Slow getting on this one. Charles Vestal produces some fine work and I was fortunate enough to recieve one as a gift a few years back. This is an exception tool to have for those days pursuing deer and other fur bearing critters. Redwood-utility is the one I carry in the woods and the name doesn't do it justice. Google and check out his work or...

I got my newest "sticker"in June or thereabouts, after the pocket clip came off the old one.
Anyways,it's a Gerber,I forget the model, maybe Paraframe? It's nice with a slim profile, you don't even feel it clipped to your pocket.I have really come to appreciate the serrated lower edge.I've used this part to remove the gillplate from a 200 lb bluefin, with little effort.
It's got a thumbscrew, and a lug,at the very base of the blade for opening assistance, and while it took a lil getting used too,it's pretty fast.
