Crystal Coast Forecast

Friday evening--- generally calm, with a Northern front Gradually moving in the area this evening. Minimal disturbances are expected throughout the evening hours.

Saturday morning--- A brisk and generally clear morning with a few patches of fog centered around the MHC waterfront and quickly moving offshore. Generally mild conditions expected throughout the offshore water out to 200 fathoms. Minor lower level disturbances expected West of 75W but isolated to a small area around the Big Rock and Swansboro Hole.

Saturaday Afternoon---- A major high will be building from the east and travel inshore beginning almost exactlly at 1430 hrs. This high will build in strength as various systems merge from the Northerly Big Rock area and Southerly Swansboro Hole vincinity. When these systems collide inshore near Beaufort inlet, shit will begin to hit the fan and a full force blow of hot air is expected around the MHC waterfront. This hot air mass is expected to last only briefly and may be very intense for an hour or so. Rubber boots are recommended anywhere near the dock area.

The sytem will move westward slightly only about 5 miles and will calm until about 1800 hrs. The hot air mass will regain strength and build in intensensity. By 2000 hrs the hot air will collide will with numerous very localized cold outcropings. The upper level high and lower level low is expected to develope into a general area of confussion and unorganized patterns such that no forecast is possible after midnight Saturaday in the immediate area of Camp Morehead, NC. There will certainly be periods of severe instability. As such, a public warning is being issued now. Depending on the intensity of these disturbances, it is possible that there could be some shearing of Gail around the center of activity, but the counterveiling presence of younger, less developed disturbances is expected to keep this sytem within manageable proportions.

Sunday morning---- very heavy localized fog is expected throughout the waterfront area but is expected to lift by 1000 hrs.

Great forecast. I think you nailed it. If only the weathermen could make such an accurate prediction.

Between the actual weather forecast, the temp shots and your forecast Glenn I expect to see some serious photos and video from this weekend. A small boat dream weekend for the spring and I won't be around to take advantage!!!!! You crowd git r done though. It looks like the folks up around O'coke/Hatt could start seeing some cobia in the inlets soon by this shot.

That was great Glenn. I just hope that the front doesn't stall over the MHC area.

I know Lou, those of us used to Carolina Coastal weather are a bit more acclimated to these unforeseen stalls, However, they ussually don't develop in earnest or instensity until June and July--- at which time they have been known to stall and not budge for 4 to 5 days.

You seem to be underestimating the amount of hot air moving into the area for the weekend.

Seems like hot air moves into all the coastal regions from the mid-atlantic on down every weekend from about mid march on !
