Thread: Crimps: Which Type & Why?

    so when using double copper crimps, and using Box's wahoo proof wire at the hook eye, is there suppose to be room in the crimp for the wire with the "advertised size" or do you have to step up in crimp size to accommodate the added wire? I noticed in the video that Box was able to insert the wire with very little effort. For me, the wire was very tight and I had to almost jam it in. Learn me please.

    It depends on the size of wire you use for your pin rigs...I like to use #15 wire for mine so I step up a size.

    I would assume most everyone else goes up a size as well. I've never had one fail... ALWAYS pull on your connections before they hit the water.
