Sorry I misunderstood your queation. I believe that you will have less drag on your bait so it will swim alittle deeper behind the planner. On the flip side there is alot of drag on the reel to hold the planner. When you get eaten you really snatch him a new a$$hole. I think the 135' of mono could act as a shock leader. Just my opnion I have never tried this method so I cant speak from experience.

right, i was thinking that as well. less mono means less "give" due to the lack in stretch in the braid creating an even firmer bite. i really don't like the idea of winding up crimps and swivels through my tip and eyes. i can't help but to think the crimps (more than the swivels) might nick the guide(s) creating an ununiformed edge for the line to get chafed or severed.
