creek fishing part 2

BeagleMan and I fished in the Edisto river again this week. Tried another landing and was able to find some nice water. The bite was not as good as last week. We got maybe 20 fish. 14 eaters and 6 to put in the pond. Tried catawabas and crickets, with the crickets not getting a bite. Maybe the bite was off with the front coming through.

all I want to know is one thing, are you gonna raise any puppies off your dog?

I would love for RatMan to have pups. Dont let the name fool you, RatMan is a little girl. (long story). I can not seem to find a male with the same build as her.

does Ratman track? We used Pepper for tracking bow shot animals. Had her 19 yrs. She left a void and I need to fill it.

Pepper looks like a real cool dog with a personality similar to my ratman. I am sure the loss is great. RatMan probably would track for us but has never had the opportunity to do so. We pick and say we could sick her on a bear, She is so loyal. We have been trying her on squirrels and she seems to like it. She also likes to chase the bull frogs around the farm pond, that is a site to see.

The long story that goes with her name is pretty cool. The man that I work for has always had a rat terrier. First one was Ratman, second was BoBo. After Bo died of heart problems and old age he decided to get another rat . terrier. He located a breeder and they had a new litter. He wanted another male pup, and agreed to get one when they were ready. The person we were getitng him from had the daddy dog and was getting the pick of the litter. He knew Jimmy wanted the male out of the litter. When it came time for the guy to pick up puppy it seems the owner of the female dog had gotten attached to the only male pup. So he took one of the other little pups, a girl. They showed up at our jobsite with the little girl. Jimmy did not say too much about it being a female at the time, but his wife felt he should have a male pup. It was a tough decision, but Jimmy decided that she was right and he gave me the pup. also he wanted one that was a little larger in size. In honor of his first rat terrier I named RatMan after him. And to kind of show jimmy little girls arent so bad. He really missed out on a nice dog. My RatMan is now three years old. We did try and breed her one time(to a rat/Jack), but she did not go to term. All the males I have seen have been too big to breed to her in my oppinion. She is really tiny. Should I breed her, or find some nice pups I will be sure to let you know. Maybe someone on here will see this post, and know where a suitable mate is.

Thanks for sharing your pics of Pepper with us. I know you must just feel lost with out her. I could not imagine life with out RatMan.
