Well I hope you all had a great 4th of July. I saw the tall ships photos Marty posted and it reminded me there isnt any water within a 1000 miles of this hell hole. We went out to a village that had been sacked by rebels, as usual they burned it down and looted everything they could get their hands on. This place is going to blow up soon.
1. My camp from the heli we went out on.
2. The village we went to
3. Rebels
4. The other white meat
HEY PRO....LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT HERE. I SEE THE PICTURES OF THE REBELS.....ARE THESE THE BAD GUYS? I MEAN ....IF SO, LOCK & LOAD IS IN ORDER RIGHT?
DEFINE REBELS A BIT MORE FOR US BEFOORE YOU START SHOOTING ON MY COMMAND PLEASE
it's not a perfect system, hell it's not even a good system but it's all I got. First in my area we have several rebel groups, Sudan Liberation Army (SLA), Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), Janjaweed (Arab Militia), various Chadian rebel groups crossing into Sudan.
We get a report of an attack, either after the fact or while it's in progress. We, my protection force and I, jump in trucks, helicoptors whatever it takes to get there. If we get there and it's going on we jump into the fray to protect civilians. If it's 2 rebel groups slugging it out, hell I let em go at it, no reason to endanger my guys.
I know which groups operate in what area, we come in I go to the leader and say "WTF? Did you do this? If not who did?" In this case the cats in the pic are SLA, they came to lay the smack down on the Chadian rebels who crossed into Sudan and attacked the village. We can't chase them into Chad, some b.s. rule about invading a country However, I will encourage the other guys to follow them and smack em, whether they win or lose, no drama to me, hell they'll be the guys sacking a village tomorrow. It just saves me the trouble of going after them if they lose. Like I said it's a system, not a good one, but it's all I got.
Lee, the ring around each hut is a fence made out of thorn bushes. The people here very little so they keep all of their animals inside the fence at night so they are not stolen or killed. I'll attach a picture of another village, you can see the fences a little better. The village is actually a refugee camp, there are approx. 2-3 million refugees here because of the fighting, to date an estimated 200-250 thousand have been killed.
Sea Pro- thanks for the pics and the explanation. Stay safe and like Wahoonbox said- Let us know if you need anything. Post up what you need or PM us and we will try our best to get it for you!
