Those of you with the XD's....How do ya'll like them? Have heard some various comments about the Springfields. I have a 3 year old Glock 26 (9mm). But saw a XD .40 for a good price.

I've been contemplating on some sort of 9mm. Any thoughts on either a S&W or Glock? I'm going to shoot both of them this weekend.

The only thing I dont like about it is the lack of a lever safety. Other than that I have no complaints. It is smooth, reliable, fairly light, and comfortable in my hand. It is the most accurate compact I have ever owned.

I cant speak of the Smith and Wesson 9 mm, but I have a glock 19 (compact 9mm) and love it. Keep in mind that most people either really love or really hate them.

One thing that people do not like is the length of the trigger pull on an un-modified glock. to me that is not a problem. I have learned when firing it to only depress the trigger far enough to feel the click and then re-acquire and squeeze the subsaquant shot.

The other thing is that some people think they are too light and feel too "toyish" Also not a concern of mine.

I also prefer the glock over the Berretta92.

The best way is to rent (or borrow form a friend) a variety in the caliber that your looking at and than choose what best feels and shoots well for you. Don't let your buddies tell you what you'll like.

Glock 27. Big enough caliber, shoots very well, and conceals great. But... When I took the Concealed carry class, people asked my instructor what gun was best to use in a gun fight and he said "The one you have with you". If you don't have it with you it doesn't do any good at all.
