I think Admin is going to let me have this space
there are lots of people fishing for cobia right now, it will last another 3 weeks for the best part. You can site cast to them with bucktails, with or without a squid strip, the cobia candy live eels. Fish on the bottom using a fishfinder rig, about 8oz of lead with dead anything from pogies, spots, hogfish, blues, crabs, skates, pinfish. You can use live bait either slow trolled or suspend under a ballon. Use a strong sharp hook, I use 8/0, either circle or J which ever you preferr. Either use free spoll or very light drag on the start, let him have for a few seconds before coming tight or setting the hook. Any structure in the 20 mile range right to the beach can hold cobia. They like to hang around bouys or debris. They can be caught in NC from mid May to mid June inside the inlets in the deep holes.
