First of all I would like to thank Marty for inviting me to post this in his world, thanks dude. Billy and I arrived in AB for two days of Sheepshead fishing with two goals, catch a cooler full of meat and a citation sized fish. It was Billy's first time fishing for the goats so he didn't know what to expect, like getting up at 3:00 amto catch our fiddlers. We were back up at 5:30 and headed to our spot. When we got there I helped Billy and watched him for a while until he caught his first convict, it was a small one but at least he had the idea. I started getting my stuff ready when he set the hook hard and yelled "Oh my God!" After a few tense moments of trying to get the fish out of the pylon he got him into the open water and the fish pulled some serious drag. Soon I saw the big flash and I was thinking this could be the one. We got him in the boat and after some high fives and some pictures we put him on the scale, 8lbs 4oz.,CITATION! We fished on into the afternoon catching a few keepers but mostly small ones we put back for seed. Around 1:00 I caught one that weighed 5lbs. 12 oz. We ran out of bait just as a black cloud was forming back towards Swansboro, so we headed to the waterfront for a late lunch and some cold beers at Beach Bumz. The storm made its way into Morehead so we went down to Jacks hoping to wait out the weather. As were sitting there recounting the day we see the Run Off coming back from a day offshore so we head down to see what they had brought in. They unload some nice Mahi and Capt B invites us onboard to get in out of the rain. We had a blast hanging out with Brian and Marty and talking about some of our past trips. I show Marty the pictures of our fish and thats when he gave me the invite to put them on this forum. Thanks again Box. After an hour or so we realize the weather is going to hang around all evening so we head to AB so Billy can fill out the paperwork for his citation. We wake Saturday at 4:30 and start all over again. We catch plenty of small ones with a few keepers every once in a while. I think we ended up cleaning about 20 and threw back about that many. So our goals were met except that I didn't catch the actual citation but I was happy for Billy and he was grateful that I introduced him to a new kind of fishing. We had a great weekend and I hated to leave, but I will have a couple more chances this summer and I got to book a Fall trip with the Beast and Box for some Wahoo action. Thanks guys, I can't wait. Below are a few pictures, Thanks for looking. Boyce.
