Another way and save some bean$, get a piece of PVC pipe big enough to put the skirt lure in. Put a screw or nail through one end to stop the lure from sliding. Take a hair dryer put on high heat and put against the open end of the PVC. The hot air will relax the skirt and let it lay out. Works like a champ.
Warning: hair dryer will make metal heads hot as hades. I had to learn the hard way.

In a pinch offshore on a sunny day, wet the tangled skirt and lay it on the Canvas top in the sun (preferably a dark color canvas). In a half hour or so it will relax out the tangles. This canvas top tip was given to me by DAMIFINO some years back.

    Nice

That ilander (elec. blue/chart.) he's holding teased up many of a White Marlin this year. I fished it in the left short with a horse. They'd pile on it, i'd crank it up to the rigger and either switch em to a pitch or my left flat. I don't know why, but that was one of the hottest baits on our dock this year. Also caught a nice Big Eye on it. The second place Blue Marlin in the WMO was also caught on it.
