The catfish are jumpin and it aint in no dixiland

been hittin the catfish pretty good here outside of philly pa, went out wednesday night 5-7 after catchin a bucket full of frisky 5-9" creek chubs we went 4 for 6 on catties upto 30 lbs from 7:00 pm-11:00 pm.

gotta love the way them flatties bulldog ya
Keep in mind people im 6ft 2 and 250 lbs

Thanks jer its just startin up , the end of may / early june is when we get our good ones, the flatties have only been in this river system for about 10-12 years, were knockin on the door of the Pa state record which is 53 # . Best fish so far was 39#s last year and we manhandle fish upto that size....that being said we had to break anchor a few times to chase fish down that ended up gettin us into the wood and breakin us off....i gotta wonder how big these bruisers we have to chase really are.

GIVE EM PLENTY OF SLACK WHEN THIS HAPPENS...TAKE THE CHANCE!!! THEN RELEASE THE ANCHOR AND GO FOR IT!

you got it , we get on em pretty quick and im spooled with 5o lb braid and 50 lb leader, that got the catch rate up unfortunatly we straightened a few hooks out so now we bumped up to 6/0 baitholders which have a pretty beefy shank anything heavier wrecks the presentation an the bait since they are in the 5-9" range and not real hearty. Were knock knock knockin on a fatties door dont you worry , the biggest obsticle is where the slobs live the are usually pretty close to the gnarliest snags and wood piles around.
