Extreme Measures Charters and our very own Captain Brian Harrington caught a 400+ lb Blue Marlin yesterday in the pretty little section of water.
BTW....he was on his ContenderHe is THE BEAST
Hopefully it will stay around here for the tournament this weekend
If I remember correctly John Capt B called this last week. I have been watching, waiting ever so patiently for the past few days to get a crack at these pieces of water this coming Friday and Saturday.
Good luck to all this weekend. See ya out there.
The BEAST never ceases to amaze me. I think he sweats out more skill each day than I have in total. I guess he's got this "pre-fishing" thing down pretty good.
Good luck to you guys, see ya this weekend.
No pictures that I know of.
I do know most of the details though.
Bill is the one who caught the fish. Bill is 65 years old and he is a fishing machine. He has been fishing with Brian for years. He has caught more fish then most of us can even dream about.
It was just him and Brian. The bite came on the left flat on a dink. Bill fought the fish from the front of the boat as Brian chased him down. The fish never got more then 100 yards away during the 1 hr and 57 minute fight![]()
Brian pulled a tape on him and he was between 112 and 115 inches.
Dink rod, 30 lb main line, 80 lb Ande leader with a 7/0 dink hook.
Brian said it was so slick out there yesterday that when the fish jumped and he went over the fishes wake it would rock the boat.
Most of the charter fleet was out there and they saw and talked about it all day long on the radio.
He is no doubt THE BEAST.
I have not been able to catch Brian a Blue one yet this year unfortunately. He was no doubt due for one. I guess he had to take matters into his own hands. LOL
This was Bills first Blue marlin ever. Needless to say it was a special one with just him and Brian. I am very happy for Bill and Brian. They are 2 of the most hard core fishermen I know.
I have said it once and I will say it again. The man has been blessed with a talent to fish anywhere for anything anytime. He is a dangerous advisary in a small boat, big boat or just a float ring.
I could feel the salt spray hit my face from the jumps of the blue one just reading this.
Nice friggin work Bill and Brian.
Thanks for the scoop John. Capt. Brian is one of the best, hands down.
Would have paid money just sit there and watch that drama unfold.
7/0, dink rods and a 400 pounder.![]()
Pretty work guys!![]()
What an awesome story. The Extreme Boat might end up in a museum one day.![]()
