THE CAPTAIN and the kid...2 years later

On the way down the creek...guarding the Cheetos.

He beat me to the first fish fair and square and believe me when I tell you the size of the fish and the size of the trash talk were inversely proportionate.

Not to be bothered now that he has them fired up. And more than a little displeased at having to keep his butt on the bow and feet inside the boat.

Once we started taking spray from the mixed up chop (while at anchor) The kid had enough and begrudgingly The Captain agreed to leave the good eatin size Spadefish and SeaBass biting...He wasn't even tired!

Once into calmer water...The Captain was pleased to get after the "Croaks" again...Even more pleased to dangle his legs under the rail again.

Had a mystery guest smoke a Sabiki hooked Croaker at the top of the water and The Captain went NUTS. Insisting Cobia. I am fairly certain it was a big Flounder that followed his line up...but....He'll always remember the beast. With any luck at all the creatures size will continue to grow with each retelling of the story. I doubt the fish will grow as fast as The Captain is though.

A few pics of our new livewell....

The Captain loved the new well...he could hear em croak better. The kid not so much....but have a laugh on my behalf because that thing sloshed several gallons at a time...several times down my neck.
Fishing was tough...we released way more short Flounder than I cared to but had a blast doing it.

Maybe tomorrow on our Cobia...There are a few new pets in the barrel.

What are you feeding that kid?

Glad to see the Captain back on the water. That big rusty thing looks familiar.

Keep your pets happy until their next day at work.

Thank you for sharing the captain with us once again Geoff. Boy is looking great! I recommend "sleeping tarpon" for the 6th photo down.
Good luck with the cobes tomorrow!
