Capt. Eddy Haneman Tourney Wilmington
For you guys in the Wilmington area. This weekend is the Capt. Eddy Hanemon Tourney.
Nice little local tourney with some good boats and a lot of great guys.
It's like 500 bucks to enter and it's a Saildog only tourney with no boats allowed to fish like more than 20 miles off the hill.
The tourney raises money for a local cahrity and still has a handsome payout.
For 500 bucks you get to fish two days, drink beer under the big tent, hang out with John Boy among dozens of other great guys and still sleep in your own bed.
Our own Gottafly Lee Parson won this thing last year and I was allowed to ride along on day two.
It was pretty exciting to hear the radio announce the unofficila results delcaring Lee the winner while I was onboard when at the same time we could hear the DU comittee boat anouncing the Run Off with Capt Harrington and Marty as the winners of the DU...cool indeed!
If you are not doing anything this would be a great way to enjoy the tourney atmosphere without breaking the bank.
The Bite Me is on the hill getting some service but plans to fish it.
The touney headquarters is Bridge Tender Marina.
Come on down!

Yep, your gonna need stitches
Capt. Eddy
There is a name that brings back some memories.
Back in the early seventies there were a handful of charter boats
docked at WB and I found Capt. Eddy to be the finest of the bunch
in every respect. Capt. Eddy along with Capt. Sid and Capt. Rock
were old school right down to the khaki uniforms and hats. I had
the privilege to work a few days on the Martha Ellens with the Capt.
What an outstanding gentleman and a fine fisherman as well.
It is great to see a tournament named in his honor.

Anthony's Ark is a blowboater
This is a great tournament people. It's for a good cause. The food is fantastic. The dockside scenery is first class. Lou will be there. What else could you ask for??? Oh Yeah...the sail's have been chewing their asses off inshore for two weeks now!!
I'll be fishing DU, but I hope that you guys catch the shit out of them.

Now booking for May Striper fishing on the Roanoke River
North Carolina
910-540-2464
Lou, Thanks for posting this. FWIW, the entry fee is $250.00, Sailfish calcuta, $100.00, Dolphin calcuta $50.00 plus $20.00 for cameras. $420.00 for the whole thing. Great prizes and lots of fun. This tournamemt was designed for smaller boats to be able to fish in it. The first year I fished my 18' Whaler, and won it on my 23' last year. The small boats are doing as good as the big boats on winning the tournament...so in this case...size doesn't matter.
Come join the fun this weekend. Thanks, Capt. Lee
