    Cape Lookout fishing...

Got back to the Piedmont to rest after a too busy vacation!
Burnt a record amount of gas in 10 days but we had lots of fun on the water...
Get to fish on the computer again!!!
Anyway, it was great to explore a little more of our waters and get the kids to work on there knots, spreads and rigging...

Always great to have the boss around for her to see the boys playing on the water and for us to see if she can handle AJ's...

Had her pick up a few mahi's while making bait...

As Mom is originally a marine biologist it was great to catch not one but 2 seabass that were tagged. These were tagged on 210 rock and caught on 240. The NCSU program is to check how many make it back down. The plan is to tag 7000 fish including vermillions, porgies grunts and groupers by the end of the summer.

Austin got to catch his first Lionfish. No baracudas touched this one but as you can see in the next picture we had trouble bringing up groupers whole. That day most every short grouper got wacked less than 10 Ft under as we released them. Marc hates baracudas...

Got fish next to Swell Rider and Jacky who's been a couple time out with hm likes his boat...

Saw lots of cobias this week, had shots at a dozen only got a couple they would even touch live bait on light lines. Clever buggers!

The summer kings are back and may be one of the favorites of the kids on the way back in. Finish those baits!

The flounder are incredible at the bight. There are hardly no keepers but it's nice to see many, many young ones.

Had some good days on Mahi and kids fished them all with drop backs to train for saildogs... VMC circle hooks are the new favorite!

Did quite a bit of wacking n Stacking but just not on the right species... Had trouble finding good groupers this week with lots of current on the shelf.

Sharks are back in full force on the wrecks but at least they keep the kids busy and not fighting!

Had a couple storms but the sure are a good way of rinsing off the boat! The Parker may not be very sexy but she has the merit of keeping us dry!

Our joungest favorite fishing happens close to shore and she doesn't mind cooking them!

Sorry for such a long post!
