Box took care of us down in NC. Those of us that know and respect him will make sure he is treated with all the respect he deserves when he arrives up here. Box, I hope you know I live 3 miles from the marina hosting your rigathon, my house is your house if you'd like!
That's my neck of the woods formally and I and many others used to be very active on that site untill we realized it was mainly a small clique of guys (if you can call them that) that spent most of their time patting each other on the back and kissing up to each other and their posts. As soon as someone outside their group would post up a new or different topic or idea they would all pile on and act like asses. Had a few good run-ins with a couple of them and once called out they generally crawl back into their holes for a while waiting for one of their buddies to help them out. Most of the biggest jerks are based in Falmouth and around the Cape you will find.
The moderators have done a bad job IMO keeping the site open, interesting and informative and becasue of this they have lost many a good fishermen with alot of insight and knowledge to offer, their loss.
So, go up meet some of the good ones and have a good time, there are many more good guys in NE then bad but they do take a little while to warm up to, that's the way it is up there, most likely from the terrible weather they must live with.
They are also very secretive in their ways so sharing of knowledge is sometimes a hard sell, A few guys like Eric S from The Hook Up and Riptide are very active in sharing info and knowledge so there are exceptions.
