Hey Anngler - It is not so bad. Have you ever stuck yourself with a ballyhoo pin while rigging bait? Have you ever pricked yourself with a sharp hook? A needle is no worse than that.

I had to have some moles removed - the Dr numbed the area and I never felt it.
so don't dread it so much.

Hotrod - I know some of the bait companies brine their 'hoos - maybe that's what's getting you - do you break out with bionic brine even without the 'hoos?

The nitrile gloves are pretty good - there is also another kind that has nitrile on the outside/latex on the inside - just a hair thicker than the regular disposables, but a lot tougher - If you want to try some, let me know - I'll send you some.

This may be the same thing you guys have already suggested...but there are some black "latex-like" gloves that a knife won't even slice through. I'll try to find some info.

EDIT: In checking...I may be refering to the nitrile gloves, but in a higher mil thicknes. An 8 mil or higher looks like they would work well. I don't thing black is the only color available now that I'm looking for them. On www.glovesaver.com a case of 8 mil nitrile gloves is about $100. For 500 gloves that's about $0.20 each. That is just the first site I went to after my search...you might be able to find some cheaper. Jay

You can move up north if you want - I'll just take Hawaii - 75 degrees year round, plastic all the time, pointy nosed fish all year, and a mile run to deep water... Only catch is you gotta love SPAM.
