I HAVE WAITED PATIENTLY 4 YEARS TO SEE THE FLOWER PODS BLOOM ON MY PINDO PALM......I KNOW SOMEONE DOWN SOUTH HAS MADE PINDO JAM FROM THE FRUIT OF THIS BABY...

ANY RECOMMENDATIONS AS TO WHEN WHERE WHY AND HOW TO MAKE ME A JAR OF PINDO JAM? I HAVE GOOGLED THE CRAP OUT OF THIS AND REALLY NO STRAIGHT TALK HOW TO MAKE THIS RARE ONE....






HOW LONG WILL IT BE BEFORE THE COCCOON OPENS?

I have a large collection of palms, including a large jelly palm. Although I have never attempted to make jelly out of the fruit, I was given the directions (below). Although it would be neat to make your own palm jelly, it looks to me like it is too much damn work...for what it's worth:

"you have to wait until the fruit has fallen, then pick up the fallen fruit, boil them up in enough water to cover them after boiling for 10 minute. The fruit is soft, so mash them up with a potato masher until the flesh breaks off the seed, let cool, then squeeze through muslin to extract the juice, add sugar to taste, added pectin to set it to get jelly for bread. It has a slight woody after taste, may be the result of too much boiling or squeezing. but unset, without pectin, adding passion fruit, or other, seems to remove the after taste"
