That may be the last legal "deep water" dropping fishing trip. I haven't seen it in writing myself, (but I have had a few that say they have) but bottom fishing in over 40 fathom's as of Jan 1/11 is now illegal, not to be re-opened. Have any of you guy's seen this in print, or know if it is fact. I find the whole concept nonsensical to me. But this is the Federal Gov't we're talking about, so who know's. And if it has been closed, can you imagine how they're gonna enforce it???? What are we all (the rec guy's) gonna have to purchase a "black box" like they made the commercial guy's do????? It's a tangled web we weave, I'm afraid. Frank

frank the good thing up here is it is only from the VA/NC line south as of now but who knows what will change

I didn't know where the line was. Have you seen or do you know where to get a look at this new law? Sound's like some more "bad scientific data" again, to me. They have closed area's in the Pamlico Sound (last week) because the oyster's are too small. To bad they don't know how or where to look for oyster's. I know guy's that were getting a bushel to the circle of big, pretty oyster's from the same area. Yep all you need is an "education" to get ahead in this world. No one ever said they had to be smart too. Dang shame, idiot's! Frank

Ya give me a little while an i'll be able to find it again looks to be the wrok of pin heads freaking out about the "endangered" red snapper i have ranked the scientists that do the research for the fisheries dept right up there with weathermen.
