    On the bubble again.

I fished the local king tourney thhis weekend, if you don't place in the top three the money vanishes quickly. We were fournate enough on Friday to catch a good fish and was sitting in third place. The same place I sat on Friday in the big rock, but this time the bubble didn't bust and we held out. Big seas on the eastern side of the cape our fish struck a live blue while we drifted over the 30min. rock. BIll Collector had 16 wahoo on Friday.

Hey man pretty work. I think that waiting to see if your fish is going to hold on the board is worse than when you see the fish and know he or she is a money fish buy cant get it in the boat.

WTG Razor glad the bubble held. Here is what happened to us.

I was friendly hired (to my buddy Kingchaser) out this weekend for the ABKMT. We managed some smaller kings Friday that were under the tourn. min. and then got covered up by the sharks. Our plan was to stick tight to the bait we were marking just off the beach and around the inlet since we were in a smaller boat. Left the sharks and did not get another run the rest of the day.

Day 2 took a while to get bait. When we did, ran out to color change outside the inlet, marked the bait again stuck tight to it, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, middle of rig cutoffs later #6 came tight and the trebles stuck.Kingchaser reeled him I stuck him.. 35" just over the tournament min ended up 11lbs. 81 out of 101 when we weighed. Were out of the daily money and 23 and under money by a few pounds. Still a fun time and were able to get Kingchaser to the scale on his first tournament.

Came to the dock, ate dinner re rigged for drum, then went up the ditch with only 6 baits that we had left over from the king event..... on the anchor by 9pm went 5 for 6 on the giant drum and managed to get all my crew some citation papers. Headed back down the ditch by midnight or so once we ran out of bait. I will say that I lost the one that would have put us 6/6 by not following my own advice of leave in the rod holder until you are sure of a good hookup.

    Enjoyed the weekend Kingchaser. Thanks.

Yessir he is here on the board. Does not post to much. Maybe we can get him to give us a short/bio intro sometime. Got him and another guy with us in the drum last weekend as well and they wanted to do it all over again after the tournament was over Sat. By the time we got back to the house.....23 1/2 hour day ....whew!!!! it was worth it though.

BTW the spots we were fishing for drum these past two Sat are some that I chose by looking at the chart and seeing good bottom. There are many others that I cannot share with other eyes because of promises I have made. I have to keep my word.
