    BOX AND BLOCK REUNION

Looked like I was going to be sitting at the dock today and I just had to get back out there in the action. The weather is beautiful and the bite is on I CAN"T BE LEFT AT THE DOCK!!! I thought Marty was still out of town but I gave him a call. Dude, are you fishing tomorrow? We're not, its going on and I just want to ride. Marty says HELL YEA we're fishing and I'd love to have you. Mike and T, thats what they all call her, are just awesome folks. Right on man see you in the morning. Marty wasn't lying. Mike and T are all that. At about 0730 T brings out 2 fresh cooked bacon and egg sandwiches on a toasted English muffin, cheese dribbling out, the egg done just right. Now picture this, Marty and I are standing at the stern the sun is just breaking through the clouds at sunrise, seas less than a foot, 60 degrees in Jan and a pretty woman brings us fresh cooked breakfast. Good god I'm in heaven, fishing, good food and great folks, WOW! I haven't had a chance to fish with my mentor and teacher Marty in over 2 yrs and at that time I was a student. I've had a chance to tweak my skills over the last couple yrs and finally get back on a boat with him. At 0800 we decide to check the lines. We have the lt planer up and are getting ready to cut the band. I look over my head as the lt rigger line is falling. I grab the handle and start cranking, were tight. OK, everything just goes like clock work without hardly a word spoken, just right. No big deal thats how its supposed to be. Everything went good till the 2nd head shake and charge the boat good bye. Put the mess back out and get back to it, not much said. Lots of fish hooked today, one boat had a triple header this morning and was headed back to the dock by 0700. I didn't put this up for the fish and fight, it was great to fish with my mentor and friend and meet 2 new friends and thanks them all for a great day on the water.

Wow, Rick. You were fishing with a great group of people. Mike is a blast to be around, and T is one of the nicest ladies I've met (and she FISHES!!!). Marty...well he's Marty, nuf said. Too bad the fish didn't stay tight, but when you're having a day with a group like that, the fish is just gravy. Go get 'em next time.
