Actually that fish is still a juvenile. Back in the early days Catalina was loaded with BSB. There used to be tournaments for these fish and one of the consistent winners (1950's) developed a "technique" in which he chummed fish/squid chunks using the head.



The amazing thing of this story is that it was caught in shallow water off of the pier. As a side note these fish have been protected for years and to not know the species or that it is protected is a weak argument.
