Hmmm? I bought a jumbo bag three years ago same place Marty did and finally ran out a couple weeks ago. Never had a dry rot problem...

What I did have an issue with them is the same thing I have had with the regular beige ones... Deep deckhand has some pretty fair skin and needs to bathe himself in heavy SPF sunblocks. Seems his bands don't last as long as the ones i use on our tag lines...
That being said they held up much better in Bahamian sun that the beige ones...

We've been using them for years at OI, Billy sells them at Whalebone tackle by the bag full.
I keep them on my boat along with the monel.

I've never heard of the U/V resistant black rubber bands dry rotting, under normal conditions. The best brand we have found comes in 1 lb bags and has HHT on the bag.

Yours are the ones we got and they lasted forever. Really good stuff. Got the fresh bag ready to go to the islands late in the winter...
