Thumbs up "Black and Gold OI Report !! " Breaking in a King fisherman

Hey everyone .... Did a great trip Out of OI this weekend!! Had a great crew including a first time Tuna fisherman "King fisherman"!! Im sure he will chime in on this thread.. Anyway ended up with a box of nice YFTs by 11:30. Got a full hour of killer video which I will work on in the future. Nothing like seeing a Newbie bent over on a Black/Gold 60lber without a harness!! I forgot to tell him about the Harness...OOPs Needless to say there will be some Bleeping out on this video!! Thanks to Jeff and Johnathan for making the trip.....Tight Lines Mark

Here are a few photos at the slip...

Nice, fat yellowfins, congratulations! Good to know that decent sized YF still exist. Never saw much of them off SE NC the last two years.

They were Nice Tuna. We ended up running more north than most. We started at the 667 line and stayed in that area till we left. All the tuna were caught in 1400-1800 ft of water....Mark

they are around...just got to run WAYYYYYY out there. I'm convinced they travel the other side of the gulf stream until they get to Hatteras. Look at the Big Rock YFT winner, they were a hundred miles off when they caught her. Some south florida style "otherside" fishing seems to be the ticket, using radar or glasses to find birds and fishing lures in front of the schools
