A Big THANK YOU: from a greatful kid

As some of you guys might have known I was looking for a job as a mate last spring. I didn't really have much expectation for my first summer as a mate. But I have an Uncle that goes by the name of Squidnation. And I was introduced to my present boss and captian Marty Moran, who was going to be running a brand new 56 Viking, he said that he would keep me in mind but dont get your hopes up, so i wasn't very confident about getting this dream job. so i kept looking around but it was looking like back to the farm for me. Then I was given the number of a now good friend Capt Jermey Blunt, who ran another big viking but was on the brink of making a change, so still no good. But then I walked into ALL TACKLE Ocean City a few day before they opened and met two first class people, kieth Friaser and Jim Mussina and they hired me on the spot. They were very understanding with my wanting to work on a boat. They siad I could go fishing when ever I had an offer. So I worked fat All Tackle from late may to the end of june. when i got a free lance offer to work 3 days on two differnt boats. One day with Capt Al Rittmeyer and two with Capt Jermey. After those three days Capt Moran was crusing the docks and siad hello. After I went up to clean the front of the boat, I was offerd a try out on the Marlin Magic. On July 2nd and 3rd I had my tryout days, and after the second day I was offerd my DREAM JOB and of course i took it. I got the chance to fish 3-4 days a week for the rest of the summer and first the OC tuna tournament and WMO. Some of my better days were,

    3 big bluefin, 65, 135, and a 185 pounder
my first Blue marlin and sialfish in the same day.
A 74 pound Wahoo in the WMO and two whites

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who gave me a chance.

Kieth and Jim thanks for giving me the freedom to persue my dream
Al thanks for giving me my first real shot
Jermey I dont know what you siad that day but thank you
and everyone on D Dock at Sunset, I learned so much from just hanging around down there.
And Captian Moran thank for putting up with me on my bad days, i can't wiat till next summer.

Unlce B, if it wasnt for you none of this would have happend, I hope I didn't disapoint.

This was the best summer of my life thanks to all who helped me live another dream of mine. I never thought I would fish my first White Marlin Open on a brand new Viking

Way to go Anthony, congrats on your first season. Keep that attitude and determination and you will go places. No matter how good a job others did putting the word out for you, it was still up to you to back it up and show your stuff. Sounds like you did it, keep up the good work!

I don't care how much you suck up I am not paying for your trip to Venezuela in April.

Congrats on a great great year. not only did you not dissapointment but you sure made me proud. working those hours on those big battlewagons is tough work. you treated the marlin magic as if it were your own and that says alot. congrats.

Anthony it was a pleasure meeting you this summer and having you on the dock. Thanks again for the help on the Fin-ness that day. Guys I can vouch for him he is one hell of a worker. All he needs to do is figure out how to pick up the long hair his guest leave behind and not get too comfortable on the mezzanine seating. Also teach those Cusimano kids a thing or too so they can pull their weight on my boat. Good Luck in school.

Very nice post Anthony. It was great to meet you this year. I know you worked hard to get (and keep) the job with Capt Marty. Keep up the good work - stay out of trouble (most of the time) - and fish hard everytime you get the chance and you will have a very long and enjoyable run!

Its young bucks like you and Shane that are the future of this sport and SFC.....

If there is anything I can ever do for ya you know how to get in touch with me.
