    Big Rock report!

With the Electric Bill crew Chip and Jason down south giving the BFT a try, I decided I was doing something different. Kept checking the bouys and NOAA last night and saw a window to slide out early then haul butt when it went in the drink. Today was ME day, just me and the little boat loaded with full weaponry, prepared for anything YFT's, Hoos, Groupers and even a trout rod throwed in.

Sat shot showed a little warm water near the NE corner, little after day light I was there, beautiful light swell no chop. 72 deg on the NE corner so I headed on out towards the Pan Am. 74.5/75 deg, Set the deep rod then a couple on top, worked around here and there then worked back in towards the Rock. On the break there was good bait marking couple passes and the planer trips, just maybe? Or maybe not, 25lb. AJ, definately not a good sign. Another bait mark another AJ, time to move.

Next spot on the break the WWB crips then nothing, grass, nope a baby blackfin that sucked up the bait to the Islander, looked like it was throwing up a pink and blue hair ball! It got chunked to grow up. Only action on top all morning everything else on the deep. Another AJ then a snake king, man time to try the bottom stuff, real good marks, bait down. 36oz. of weight couldn't get down, alot of current.

NOAA'a right SW starting to breeze up, time to head to the hill, little spray but a steady 20knt. ride. To cap the afternoon off I ran a ground on the east end of Taylors Ck. I guess the full moon is causing extremely low tides, heard several guys on the MHC waterfront had trouble getting in their slips too. Luckily a good samaratian from another site managed to snake around me and nudged me off the bar. Usually 4ft.of water here on low tide 1.5 today. Thanks BO. Not the best of fishing reports but I got a tug on the line.

Unbelieveable ... still 75 degree water out there!!! Crazy. Hey ... may not have been the best day ever on the water but it beats simulated fishing at the NC fair Grounds

Hey Roger, was a beautiful morning out there wasn't it. Sun rising and the moon setting at the same time. Great report bud, won't be long and we'll be back out there. The ride home had to suck though. Come Feb we'll get in some bottom bouncing.
