BIG NEWS, GROUPER CLOSURE POSTPONED

Just read on another website that the SAMFC is holding off on the 4 month grouper closure that was going into effect Jan 1.
There was a meeting today in Wilmington, NC and due to much resistance the closure has been postponed. Im currently researching more websites for additional confirmation and I hope I'm not "crying wolf" here!
This is good news for alot of small marinas and tackle shops, along with my belly! Merry Christmas!

Sorry Masonboro, my name is Keith and I live near Monkey Junction. I do have a spearfishing buddy named Henry though and he keeps his 20' Mako at your marina.

I continue to search for confirmation from the SAMFC website but it has not been updated about the meeting and decision made today, however numerous new agencies are reporting the lifting of the grouper closure.

Here's another link/story about the grouper closure. Sounds like it has not been officially passed by the DOC therefore we have some reprieve. I've been researching and "googling" this evening and I cant find anything official from the SAMFC as of yet. It appears though we have some reprieve and maybe a full cancellation of the impending closure.
