Here in the north east, the main stay for bluefin trolling during the summer months consist of an array of well rigged ballyhoo/islander combos (blue/white, pink/white, pink/blue) seem to be the best all around producing lures run way way way way way back, guys run lines litterally 100-200 yards in the shot gun position.

most guys run the bullet head style lures...

my question is how many guys run concave face or chugger style lures when bluefin fish? and what are your results?

chugger might raise more fish?? but not sure about the bite!!!

WE use to get a good bite using the old style Iland Lure Pro or as it is known in NC, "Popper Head". Eventhough this is usually a great topwater lure, we would run it down on our planer way back and get numerous bluefin bites. All pink with a pink head use to work the best. The Iland Lure Black hole also gets a good number of bites both on top way back and on a planer. there again all pink and pink head as well as pink head pink and chartreuse, or a red head all crystal hair works very good.

thanks for the feedback, it was always my understanding that bluefin like the cleanest running bait in the cleanest most understurbed water.
