The BFT Game!

MM hasn't done a post in a while as I went in BFT hibernation a couple weeks ago with the mission of having my friend Guy and his wife Annie catch one of those Blue Things.....
They are in the process of moving to Panama and enjoy a fishing retirement but had to come and check out what all this GBFT is about!
Well, after our 7th outing they have a clear picture of what it can be like when the fishing is slow... Get up early in a cold winter night, run out of core banks at low tide with no visibilty,get pounded by NC's SW short swell in a short 25 Parker, Wait, Wait and Wait for that never coming bite, pack the lines and start over the next fishable day...
It's been a tough game for folks who have only lived under the tropics but they are good sports as they know that usually for big fish it can take time to have that bait go by it's nose!
Anyway, Tuesday at noon we finally got our first bite and after 20 minutes everything was ready for the fish to come to the boat and we pulled the hook........ Big silence on the boat as we put lines back in but it's just part of the game! I had put those black owner hooks on that rod, needles to say I went back to mustad!
There is plenty of bait and the fish will hopefully be showing up soon




The poor ducks in Core sound have been paying for our frustration of not catching fish and I've made the silly bet that I wouldn't shave till I catch a fish. I'm starting to compete with Biscoto's look and if I don't get a fish by January 10 may have to wait till December to cut this beard off!!!


I have very little time left to show my buddy one of these so let me know what Good Luck charm I need on the boat!!!!

Got to be tough to get a bite with pogies stacked floor to ceiling. I have a suggestion. Let Patrick snag the Pogies and let Jackie send em down on a hook. Please take pictures of the resulting sharks and the beard.
The seaducks are getting thick up here. When the boys do find their Tuna and head this way...bring the guns too.
