    Best way to cook tuna

    Happy Easter.

People always ask how to cook fish, what is the best way to cook it.

I always answer the best way to cook tuna is not to.

    I Don't Eat Bait !,

Gotta say tuna isn't my favorite either but, grilled (till done) salt, pepper and a little lemon pepper is the best around here. Raw??? Now that's just nasty!!! Frank

Great picture Jay! have to agree with you here, if you are going to cook it, do it lightly...

Frank, I don't eat bait either but when I put lime on it, It is cooked... No Squid for me though...

My favorite way to eat Tuna is raw. Nothing better than raw tuna with some soy and wasabi. If it has to be cooked it has to be rare.

we had some fresh yellowfin tonight that never made it to the grill. Raw is the only way to eat it.

    Thanks for the Tuna, Rom!

love it sashimi'd. A a piece of pickled ginger, dip it in some low sodium soy, nothing better.

To me blackfin is the best though. Its milder.

1 can of pineapple rings and juice,,1 1/2 inch steaks,,combine the 2 in a zip lock for an hour or so,,then coat with a cajun spice, grill for 2 mins on each side,, dont forget to grill the pineapple ( you can also use orange Juice )

Cooking tuna should be a crime in my book. No rice, sashimi, soy, wasabe. It's good right off the fish, but I actually like it better after it has been chilled deeply, as in cut, vac bagged and in a slurry overnight.

If I AM going to cook it, I sear it quickly on the outside with a blow torch...that's right, a blow torch! Raw inside. We do the same with wahoo sliced thin with a bit of oil and Ponzu sauce on it...just a quick sear on one side and serve...out of this world! And of course, wahoo sashimi is also super.

I love reading Lee yucking out over squid - ika in the sushi bars and calamari in regular restaurants. It's one of the most popular sushi restaurant items and many people love it breaded and fried in steaks and rings. But not dat LeeMan, eh? I guess if you have a hard time getting over how squiggly and ugly and nasty looking they are, they might be hard to eat.

I gotta admit, they're ugly and a half, but man-o-man, they're great eatin'!
