The skiff was getting cob webs and leaves were blowing in the floor so a phone call from my friend Jimmy was all I needed to pull it out of the shed. He and his cousin Todd wanted some fillets for Sunday supper so we hit Ralieghs Jordan Lake at first light, we were not alone. The parking lot was full and when we got to our spot there were 5 or 6 boats already in the area. Before lunch there were over 20. We caught them slow and steady all day and when it was said and done we had 33 fish over the 10" limit in the cooler with some nice fat ones pushing 14". A great day to be on the water trolling the creek channels. Here id Todd with his first keeper:
Proof that blind hogs can find acorns, I put a few on ice too:
Jimmy's first keeper and then later he caught our biggest fish that weighed 1lb. 8oz.
Our fattest slabs getting ready to go under the knife:
Good times with good friends. I can only hope the weather is as nice this weekend as I'm headed for MHC Thursday night.
