Barta hook????

is this still the same rules - jhooks are ok??? Or is it circle hooks??? I do not see circle hooks in the rules but wanted ask to ask of those who may know. Being a Gov Cup tourney I was wonderin.............

I am hoping it is jhooks, I think using all circles would make for a slow couple days for the kids - no matter how proficient a crew is with circles.

The rules read natural bait only no artificial enhancments. 3 teasers can be artificial or natural 6 rod and reels 1 pitch rod. I would guess that means all circles.

Nothing new here, this tournament has always been dead bait only, single hook no enhancements of any kind what so ever.

All Circles came straight from Cynthia.

So, Do belly strips count as dead natural bait, or are you limited to Ballyhoo, Mullet, Mackerel?

I didn't see anything specific - other than no coloring and no juicing...

what a terrible shame - I will be willing to bet catches go WAAAAYYYY down overall, and for a tourney designed to have kids catch fish, thats really BAD!!!

You can thank NMFS--- I'm sure you are aware that this is the law regarding natural (dead) bait and circles for tournaments.

Why do tournaments have to follow NMFS rules? I could see in the Governors cup , but not in a kids tournament, should be 2 separate sets of rules IMOP
